This five-day, hands-on course is designed to give elite military operators with no prior manual UAV experience functional competency in the safe operation and effective piloting of PDW high-performance manual UAVs. Participants will learn skills to adeptly operate FPV drones from a team including professional PDW pilots and staff, the most advanced manual drone pilots in the world. Course includes classroom instruction, drone building workshops, simulator flight time, and practical drone flying experience. Participants will leave understanding all things required for the safe and effective usage of FPV quadcopter drones for in-field use. PDW's technological experts will teach participants about UAV technology, including transmitters, radio frequency technology, batteries, and input controls.

This three-day course aims to build proficiency in pilot ability with limited focus on building, troubleshooting, and repairing. Participants will establish pilot skill as quickly as possible. Shrike VTOL is a man-packable, Vertical Take-Off and Land Micro Air Vehicle (VTOL Mav) system. It is a small, portable, reliable and rugged unmanned aerial platform designed for front-line day/night intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR). The MBITR2, the next generation Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio, builds on the legacy of the smallest, lightest, most power-efficient multiband, tactical, handheld radio in use today. By leveraging technologies based on the leading narrowband AN/PRC-148 tactical handheld radio and the leading wideband AN/PRC-154 tactical handheld radio, the MBITR2 provides the dismounted warfighter with the ability to integrate into the wideband tactical IP and voice network via the Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) wideband channel while simultaneously maintaining legacy reach back via the narrowband channel Ð two radios in one form factor. The MBITR2 retains interoperability with existing fielded radios and addresses tomorrow's requirements for a next generation, wideband, networking handheld radio. A low-risk and cost-effective approach to fielding is provided through an upgrade path for the more than 200,000 AN/PRC-148s currently deployed. Further, the common look and feel of the MBITR2 minimizes training, provides for common logistics support, and retains compatibility with the existing installed base of ancillaries.

The AN/PRC-154A Rifleman Radio is a lightweight, rugged, body worn radio that transmits voice and data simultaneously utilizing the Soldier Radio Waveform. It brings secure inter-squad networked communications to the soldier at the tactical edge of the battlefield network. The radio allows self-forming, ad hoc, voice and data networks and enables any leader at the tactical level to track individual soldier Position Location Information, giving dismounted soldiers a much-needed situational awareness capability. The AN/PRC-154A Rifleman Radio is capable of providing soldiers with access to the government's classified networks at the Secret level and below. The functionality of the Rifleman Radio is critical for the DoD's plan to build out a ubiquitous tactical communications network to facilitate voice and data communications interconnectivity anywhere around the globe.

The Mission Module concept integrates Thales' AN/PRC-148 JEM handheld radios and Full Motion Video Receivers into an FMVR Mission Module form factor. This single device approach reduces the size and weight burden of the warfighter and provides the ability to receive Full Motion Video from ISR assets on the fly as the mission dictates. Users currently carry multiple radios to maintain access to legacy narrowband waveforms and wideband Full Motion Video downlinks from assets such as UAVs. As an 'add-on" module to the currently fielded AN/PRC-148 radios, the FMVR-MMs eliminate the need to introduce a separate and dedicated FMV ground terminal receiver and provide mission-specific extended capability to the user.

Atlantic Signal was approached in 2012 by a U.S. Military Stryker Brigade and asked to consider developing a comms kit that allowed the operator to utilize a body worn push to talk assembly and headset both in and out of the vehicle. Furthermore, the comms system had to allow for accessibility to the vehicle's ICS system - providing hot mic capabilities. Incorporating one of three versions of COMTAC III ACH headset (over the head, behind the head and rail mounted), Atlantic Signal developed a small push to talk system featuring dual comm capabilities with two radios as well as an ICS interface. Radio comms are maintained on one radio while ICS communications are monitored via the second radio connector with ICS adapter cable. The operator is able transition from a mounted vehicle operation to a dismounted ground operation without having to change out a vehicle comms set-up to a ground operations comms set up - greatly reducing time, increasing convenience and lowering overall cost.

The world's original 20 meter submersible bone conduction tactical headset. The MH180V-AA amphibious assault headset is Atlantic Signal's most popular model. The GLADIATOR 'V' and 'H' models are a hybrid of MH180 horizontal and vertical framed headsets. The integration of U.S. Military approved 4th generation Combat Arms Earplugs allows the operator to engage and disengage hearing pro at will, while having no impact whatsoever on his/her ability to RX and TX. This provides the operator situational and directional awareness in open mode yet protects against dangerous peak noise levels with a filter element that reacts instantaneously to harmful environmental sounds providing increased protection. When properly worn, the earplugs provide up to 23 NRR. The GLADIATOR headset allows the operator to receive radio communications through his/her facial bones, leaving both ears free to maintain 360 degrees of situational and directional awareness. Custom cable lengths are available along with nearly 20 push-to-talk assemblies, remote switches, remote volume controls and other options to choose from - allowing the individual operator, team, squad, brigade, battalion or regiment to customize their comms system.

Atlantic Signal's TM-ICS was developed at the request of a U.S. Army Special Operations MSG in charge of CDD Medical Products who requested a communications device for two Medics or Docs to communicate with each other while in aircraft, ground vehicles and for the relay/exchange of crucial information between helicopter and medical personnel on the ground at Combat Hospitals. The TM-ICS is comprised of a 3.5' x 2' x 3/4' housing weighing less than 8.5 oz and contains circuitry and 2 AA Alkaline batteries coupled with two, heavy duty, cables terminated with NATO wired, 4 conductor, female jacks. The entire package described above fits conveniently into a custom MOLLE holder. The TM-ICS allows the wearer of the system to plug in a Peltor headset or flight helmet, with internal comms set-up, into the TM-ICS while providing the longer extension cable included with the system to a fellow operator to plug into via his Peltor or flight helmet. When both are connected to the TM-ICS, there is an open, duplex line of communication, no push-to-talk mechanism is required - providing both parties hands-free communications. The TM-ICS housing also features a user-controllable, detent-style, volume control - allowing the operators to adjust receive volume depending upon the level of noise in the ambient environment. The TM-ICS also features a 'low battery' warning tone when battery life reaches 20% and below. Additional extension cables can also be custom built for the TM-ICS.

The Modular Universal Battery Charger (MUBC) is a state-of-the-art scalable charging system that provides the ability to charge a wide range of military and commercial batteries and also provides for the addition of new batteries through software upgradeability and an innovative modular design. The base unit weighs less than 6 pounds, is small enough to be carried in a ruck sack, and is rugged enough to be vehicle mounted. The unit can also be cascaded with an identical unit to double the base unit charging capability. This system is based on technology from field-proven trials and allows charging while under heavy rain and other harsh environmental conditions. The system is optimized to provide the warfighter with the ability to harvest power from a wide variety of sources solar as well as a variety of other power sources. The MUBC combines the functions and capabilities of multiple battery chargers in one small, scalable package versus multiple standard chargers. It provides battery charging technology to the warfighter through a highly rugged, field-deployable, multi-battery modular solution for austere mission environments. The BW (Body Worn) Portable 4 and 6 man intercoms are a hybrid of our TM-ICS (Tactical Medic Intercom System). The hybrid's development started based on an inquiry from a medic overseas who assisted inside a Blackhawk with a complete surgical suite team. They required a high noise communication solution among a group as large as six professionals engaged in assisting with a casualty. Ultimately the 6 man version went into full production, along with a set of optional coiled cable extensions, which allow the professionals to connect their Peltors to the system from various positions and sides of the casualty. These intercoms also maintain comms between the group in duplex mode - meaning no need to depress a PTT button to talk. The intercom systems run off two AA Alkaline batteries and operates over 30 + hours without needing to change the batteries. The system includes a battery warning beep (in the headset during use) when battery life reaches 20% or less.

Atlantic Signal has developed two different EOD COMMS Solutions - one for the MED ENG 8 suit and one for the MED ENG 9. The first option includes a rectangular box with a centered, shrouded PTT switch mounted on the top - designed to mount to the Velcro patch on the right sleeve of a suit via a Velcro mating base. A cable, with connector, was designed to wind up the sleeve to the suit's wiring harness receptacle. When mounted properly, the two connectors interlock, preventing them from pulling apart during use. A waterproof, noise canceling boom mic connects to the 2. 5mm jack assembly inside the helmet, while the microphone element on the opposite end mounts to the inside front of the helmet.

A second option was developed to quickly disconnect the PTT portion of the EOD COMMS system and use it as the PTT for tactical assault vests. The MED ENG 8 solution is the same as the MED ENG 9 solution described above, except there is no boom microphone included. Instead, it has an internal microphone built into the helmet. Neither system is intended for use in close proximity of a suspected explosive.

Atlantic Signal's ruggedized MH180 Tactical Bone Conduction Headsets allow an operator to hear through their facial bones rather than their ears - keeping both ears free to hear danger in their ambient environment. The MH180 model is available with a vertical (MH180V) or a horizontal (MH180H) stainless steel frame. Both models feature a waterproof, noise canceling microphone mounted on an articulated boom arm and are IP67 rated for dirt, dust and water ingress. The design of the MH180V allows an operator to position the boom microphone on the left or right side of the face providing ample room for a secure cheek weld with a long gun, while the MH180H model can be ordered with the microphone manufactured and installed on the right or left side.

Atlantic Signal's AVON Protection System Comms Cable Kit was developed for law enforcement and military clients who utilize both Atlantic Signal and Peltor brand headsets. Several attributes differentiate Atlantic Signal's Comms Cable Kit from others on the market, including the robust design, epoxy sealed circuitry housing and over molded Nexus 4 conductor plug; however, the most distinguishing characteristic lies in the manner in which the circuitry was designed for the kit. When a headset is attached to the kit - along with the headset's PTT assembly - the Comms Cable Kit automatically disables the headset's microphone, only utilizing the internal microphone of the mask when the PTT button is depressed to transmit. This feature prevents noise in the operator's ambient environment from being transmitted through his headset's boom microphone each time they transmit. This unique feature allows an operator to speak clearly and concisely with no competing noise to overcome. The Comms Cable Kit can be used with AVON Protection System's FM53, M50 and C50 masks with or without AVON's outer voice projection unit.
